A piece about showing black joy through the carefree moments of my childhood

Work I did for an assignment where we had to create our own imaginary exhibition, I made “The Black Joy exhibition” as a way to add nuance to how Black people are often portrayed in the media. The exhibition included works from artists like Spike Lee and Beauford Delaney. For my contribution, I wanted to share my personal connection to the subject, so I created this piece to reflect that.
