Morris Nanning is a trained animator with Surinamese roots. Activism, education and art form three pillars in his life that constantly influence one another. In his illustrations and animations he explores themes such as history, identity and power. Inspired by music, literature, Marxism and Black culture, he creates visual stories that may chafe against the status quo, but make a valuable and much-needed contribution to our social discourse.
